Shiatsu

Shiatsu (“shi” meaning finger and “atsu” meaning pressure.) is an eastern (oriental) therapy that uses pressure applied with thumbs, fingers, elbows and palms to the same energy meridians as acupressure and incorporates stretching. It also uses techniques such as rolling, brushing, vibrating, grasping.  Pressure is also applied with the knees and feet on the persons back, legs and feet.  This modality is performed on a Shiatsu futon on the floor or on a massage table fully clothed.  Wear loose fitting clothing, something you would wear to a yoga class or to work out in.
